TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

Tarangire is located 120 km away from Arusha city. The park offers a large number of wildlife and vegetation. The name "Tarangire" originates from the river crossing the Park known as Tarangire River. Although most of tourists take the park as a day trip because it is near Arusha city; we at ABS think it is worth for longer exploration. During dry season (August - October), the park becomes highly populated by animals; making it the next Serengeti!

Frequently seen animals in this park include:- elephants, impalas, wildebeests, hartebeests, zebras, waterbucks, elands, lesser kudus, gazelles, giraffes and cats like leopards, lions and cheetahs are occasionally seen throughout the year. Plantations like acacia and baobabs the pre-historic looking trees make this park unique. The park is also rich in birds. According to Ontological Society report, Tarangire National Park contains 350 species.
