Mahale National Park is a famous park in the world for Chimpanzees. The park extends from Mahale Mountains to the edge of clean water and sandy beaches of Lake Tanganyika where there is a large number of Chimpanzees. Mahale is a park where most primatologists from various parts of the world visited since 1960.

The visits have familiarized Chimps to human beings and have made viewing them a lot easier. Vehicles are not required while visiting the park; the only options are walking or sailing by boot. Usually, there are local guides to lead and give visitors some explanation about the park, chimps and other animals. Three to four days tour is recommended. During this time you will stay at Greystoke Camp. This tour will widen your horizon not only to the Chimpanzees, but also to the red tailed, black and white colobus and red colobus monkeys.
